This is a picture of a map that shows Denali and all the various glaciers coming off it.  The Ruth glacier is one of the biggest.  It's more than 1000 feet thick in some places.   It was interesting to learn that glaciers are basically like frozen rivers.  They move just like rivers do (sometimes inches a day) - the only real difference being that they move a lot slower and have much higher erosive forces.
